Verbal Approval / Written Approval

Ok guys, I recieved a phone call from Baritric Treatment Center last Fri. saying that they had gotten a verbal approval over the phone for my surgery, now they were waiting for a letter of written approval, she informed me that as a norm the patient usually recieves this first. How long between verbal approval and written approval? How long should I wait before I get on the phone and start being a pest (again!!)? Is there any one out there that got verbal approval only to find out it was not so? Thanks,
