Buying Insurance, Will This Work?

I'm a college student in Oregon and have the Oregon Health Plan. In January, I get some financial aid and usually have a couple of hundred dollars left over. OHP will cover the surgery but has a track record of denying big time. I was thinking about maybe purchasing insurance for a while and going ahead with the surgery. Anyone think that this might work and what would be a good insurance company to go to? Thanks for your help and support!
