Whats taking my PCP so long??

I have done everything to get in to see the surgeon, my bloodwork , psych eval, support groups...everything! The only thing I am waiting on is a referral letter from my PCP and a letter showing proof of birth control.....I would have never geussed I would be waiting on her of all people....I've been calling all week leaving messages with her nurse and she tells me "oh, it's on her desk, she just has to sign off on it" well, it's been almost a whole week I've been hearing that! What should I do??
