Is there anyone out there who pre-op getting surgery soon that has a hernia

I'm just wondering because i'm having surgery in Sept and I've been getting these dull like pains, cramps occasionlly and I'm not trowing up blood nor are my BM's black. I was wondering has anyone had surgery not knowing you had a hernia did they cancel it or when they were operation on you did they fix it. Can you even have a hernia and have this surgery?
