Has anyone had their insurance change while actually still in the hospital?

My insurance has approved my open RNY for November 29. Our policy with them ends November 30 and they only approved the hospital for one day with a review on November 30 if further stay is required. December 1 my new insurance will be Empire Blue Cross EPO. I asked Human Resources if the new insurance would pick up the hospital charges and she asked the Blue Cross rep. He said there shouldn't be a problem - however, she is supposed to give me a phone number so I can verify this information. She was out ill all this week and I still don't have any verification. I will only have Monday and Tuesday of next week because my surgery is being out of town and I must leave early Wednesday morning to get all the pre-op tests done. If anyone has had this happen to them, please let me know what happened with your insurance. Patty
