Where are most incisions located?

I just had Open RNY, I was under the impression that the incision would run straight up and down on my tummy. Instead it starts at the base of my breastbone, then curves down around under my left breast, Dr. stated that it was easier to work in that position, good thing about it is that it is not really all that long.
