Long term solutions for broken toilet seats... the bolts...

I read in the answers to "a day in the life of an obese person" that many, many people have a problem with breaking toilet seats. Though I have never broken the seat itself, those darn bolts break on day two. Once I saw on TV that they were selling an "unbreakable bolt" for toilet seats. But I didn't commit it to memory. Has anyone found a way to make those bolts more sturdy???
