what happens when you are allergic to Nutra sweet

I had a really bad reaction to Nutra Sweet and or Aspertaine about 8 years ago that sent me to the ER with a throbbing migraine type headache they had to give me a shot and from that day on I never touched Nutra Sweet again so what am I going to do I saw a report on a 2 day post-Op patient and she was eating jello I'm assuming it was the non sugar kind what am I suppose to do?
