Because of the new year I have to pay a certain amount, did you?

I was approved for rny-bypass on Dec. 21, 2001. When I went in to have a pulmonary test done, I was told I have to pay $387.00 dollars of which I have already paid $100.00. I had spoken with my insurance company the day before and the person I was talking to had said she had the surgery and all I am supposed to pay is $100.00 upfront at the hospital. After my appointment I called Cigna back and asked them about it and a different lady told me that I had to pay my deductible for the year before the doctor would get paid so in all I should have to pay $400.00. I am not worried about the money, I can pay it, but I just don't want to pay for something that I shouldn't have too. Has anyone else gone through this with Cigna or any other insurance company. If so how much did you have to pay, and did you have to pay it before the surgery? Your replies are greatly appreciated thank you.
