Will having a hernia pre op delay my surgery?

Hi, I am scheduled for surgery on the 30th of this month. I've been doing heavy yard work and now I'm pretty sure I have a hernia, meeting all the symptoms. Will this affect my surgery? I'm freaking out thinking that once my surgeon realizes I have one he'll cancel my surgery. Also, if he does decide to go ahead, will this affect the procedure, I am going in for LAP RNY but wondering if it will have to be open. Any input you can give will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
