Is it true that estrogen is the cause of nausea?
I'm 3 1/2 weeks post-op (distal RNY) and for the past week or so, I've been suffering from severe nausea. Just yesterday, I read somewhere that ESTROGEN could be the culprit. It's the fact that estrogen is stored in the fat and when the body starts tapping those fat reserves, high amounts of estrogen are released into the bloodstream, which causes the nausea. If estrogen IS the cause of the nausea, then what can be done for relief? Also, is it best to avoid ALL hormones? I was going to ask my gyn about taking Provera (progesterone) because as usual, my stubborn period doesn't want to come. Maybe I shouldn't worry about getting my period at this time?
