Is it normal to get burps & creaky noises in my throat after swallowing liquds?

I had my open RNY (distal) 6 days ago on 5/21/01, so I'm still doing liquds. Well, when I swallow each tiny, microscopic sip, I get gurgling burp-gas sounds; some come up as an actual burp, others stop short of my throat. others seem to just spin around lower in my throat. Is this normal? Will it go away anytime soon? It's kind of embarassing and "unlady-like" when I have company, to sit there & let out a big old burp, but if I hold it in, I feel bloated & in pain.
