Does anyone have information about bariatrics in Canada?

I live in B.C. Canada , I am extremely overweight , my doctor says he is looking into it but hasn't found anything to help me yet ..... I am not very patient , so am taking the initiative and trying to find info myself. Can anybody help me ? My worst problem is that he says there are doctors who won't consider taking me on because I have just survived a bout of blood clots in my veins and right lung , and now am taking blood thinners. But there has to be somebody to help me - I can't live my life like this!!!
