has anyone had braided hair extensions while having this or any other type of surgery

I am a black female, having surgery on july 20, 200. I am on the east coast of NC and have shoulder length thick and healthy hair, I only relax(straighten) it about every 6 weeks, that is what my stylist recommends. Because of the heat and humidity here and the fact that we are moving about a week after surgery, I don't want to have to "deal" with my hair...of course, I can always pull it back in a scrunchie, which is usally my "style" anyway. lol. Also, I am a little concerned that the braids may be too "heavy" for my hair if my hair thins out during the weight loss.... thanks for any input! Shelia Morgan
