For those people who are/were on oral meds for Type II diabetes ...

did your doctors tell you to stop taking them prior to the surgery? if so, how far in advance? and when did you start re-taking them, post-op? if ever? and how did you handle the size of the pills? [I'm on rezulin 400mg at bkft, 750mg glucophage & 10mg glucotrol XL at dinner ... plus lizinopril 2.5mg at dinner for high blood pressure.]
