i have a gas pain now for 8 days on the lefted side

i take gas x and pepicd 20mg. it hurts all the time now for 8 days . i had it bad when i first came out of the operation and it lasted 4 days and than it passed now its been comming back and stays longer it is driving me nuts i am on soild foods now and it has been hsppening more now than ever ...someone please advise me
