How long after laproscopic sugery could I fell well enough to be active?

I started the process to have surgery in Dec. of 2003. I was under the impression that by Sept of 2004 I would be well on the way to recovery. Well as things have turned out I will be getting my surgery probably around the 14th of July. We fly to Florida(trip already paid for- no rebooking option) on Aug 30th. My Dr's office keeps telling me I have nothing to worry about. Most people return to work in 2 weeks. Our vacation consists of 5 days at various theme parks with lots of fun rollar coasters. My husbands birthday falls around this time that is why we are taking this trip. I do not want to ruin my family's vacation. I am so looking forward to this trip!!! I am a person who has no mobility problems right now, just 160 lbs. overweight. Thank for any advice.
