I have purchased 4 or 5 Protein Bars to try out including the Atkins Advantage protein bar (Almond Brownie flavor) and while it has 21g of Protein, it has 21g of Carbohydrates. The Atkins bar, along with the others all claim that they are only sporting a "Net Carb" of 2 or 3 because of the "Fiber" and "Glycerin", etc. not having an impact on blood sugar. Does this only affect diabetics or those watching/controlling carbs? Or will this affect us as gastric bypass patients as well? I'm sort of hesitating to try these high carb/high protein bars, but if Atkins is putting them out, the theory seem "legit" to me.
