Please advise! Threw up today and there was blood.

I am seeking some advice please. I ate lunch today, and I must have eaten too fast, because about 10 mins after I ate, I felt like I had to throw up. I don't know if something was stuck or what. But, I went to throw up, and there was blood along with the food I had eaten. I am almost 4 months post op, and have not had problems with throwing up, only if something gets stuck. I have phoned my doctor, and I am waiting for his call back. I am looking for some reassurance until they call. Does anyone know what this might be?
