when you send an appeal do you call to check on it or wait for them to contact u?

I sent my appeal certified w/return reciept I know through this that my insurance recieved my appeal today I am not going to call today ,but do I call at all to check on it or do I just wait to hear from them ? I have bcbs fl ppo.Thank you in advance for any answers
