What is H Pylori? Why Can't you have surgery unless it's cleared up? and what causes

I'm scheduled for my pre op test 3 days before my surgery date and I don't want any thing to happen that will cause my surgeon to have to reschedule, so is it any symptoms or can any one tell me what causes this infection and what meds do I need to take to kill the bacteria before my pre-opt test-just in case I may have it???
