Ins wants supervied diet I've supplied and am still having problems. I don't underst

I have been denied surgery twice based on not having a year of supervied dieting. Then I sent in sme papers documenting my weightloss from 1999-2000 when we were in the military. That was over a year period and I was still denied. I don't undersatnd this whole thing. What difference does it make that the yr that I had supervised dieting was in 1999-2000. They said it had to be in the last 24months. Does anyone know how I can get around this. I am very frustrated and feeling plum bad. I again, do have documented supervised dieting for 6 months. Does anyone know of an ins comp that only requires 6 months that writes individual polices? I have Great West-One Health Plan through my husband job. I don't work. Please give me some advise.
