Does anyone know anything about organ donation post-op?

My brother is diabetic, and will be needing a kidney transplant. I know that siblings are usually the best bet for long term success with the recipient of the kidney, and I'm wondering if I would even be allowed to donate once I am post op. I believe that now I would not be allowed to donate due to obesity, although I am not diabetic and don't have any major health problems. However, post-op, would they even consider me as for donation? Are there long term kidney problems that would prevent me from donating, and here's the BIGGIE: I don't have children yet, but long for it after WLS. How high risk would the pregnancy be if I'm post-op WLS and only having one kidney? I'm a little freaked and stressed out about this. Any help would be appreciated.
