what is an average amount of sugar you can have in a single meal ?

I am trying to buy all of my post op foods before my surgery, and I was wondering what is an average amount of sugar? Because I almost bought some frozen popscicles but noticed they had 2gram per pop sicle of sugar. Is this to much or is this ok. It was no sugar added pop's. also I was wondering if there is a protein pill or something? I doubt it but thought I would ask.
