How long do we have to wait?

How long do we have to wait to check into a tummy tuck? Do we have to lose so much of the excess weight, as in 50%, or what? I have always had a "roll", LOL, and it doesnt seem to be getting much smaller. With having only 97# to lose total, is a 55# loss enough to ask my surgeon about this? Also... how long does the average process take, from sending the request to being approved? Thank you in advance!
