Is 3 wks post-op too soon to drink a beer with tomato juice?

I am not an alcoholic by any means but occasinally will have a red beer. We have company coming this weekend and we are planning to go out. If I can't have a beer is there anything else that I can drink besides water? Thanks. Also, I got something stuck today, I finally threw it up to get it out but is there anything you can do it help it thru if it happens again??
