Has anyone been approved for surgery because of Meralgia Paresthetica?

I have been diagnosed with this, due to the fact that the fat around my stomach pinches this nerve, causing me significant pain. The only way to relieve this is to lose wieght. Just wondering if this has been a factor for anyone that has been approved for surgery.
