Is there a connection between lack of Protein and Colds?

I been slacking off on my protein for the past two months or so. I just can't seem to get over the gross-factor. The shakes all seem to be overly sweet and slimy. I'm trying real hard to keep up with the protein but I find that I'm "forgetting" to take my protein shake. Anyway, I just came down with a terrible cold and was wondering if I became more suseptible because my lack of enough protein in my diet. I had distal rny and was told to try to get in 120 grams of protein per day. I don't have any appetite with this cold and am avoiding those gross shakes but will this inadequate protein intake prolong my cold?
