Has anyone had gastritis and a hiatal hernia?

I have gastritis and a hiatal hernia, with mild flair ups at times. My main concern is will the flair ups with the gastritis do something to my staple line? I am so afraid of bursting open from gas...... Is this stupid or what? But I am still very concerned.
