Is bowel surgery a common after surgery related to the R-N-Y?

I am post op two years and last month had to have scar tissue removed from the the small bowel. I had to go through the ER and was in excruciating pain. For me, the owrst side effect from the surgery has been the horrific gas and stomach pains. Does anyone know anything we can do to get away from so much gas? It is killing me, not to mention how embaressing it is even around my husband. It's like suffer inside or fart. Most of the time, I suffer.
