My Husban's co Has GE Admin they have and exclusion for WLS

My husban's company FYI has them and they have an exclusion clause against the surgery I had contacted them in March an gotton an ok verbally from them than in June after I had gone through all the pre-op paperwork the ins company call me to tell me about the company exclusion I want to know can i fight this and win or is ther anything I can do at all about this exclusion clause. they take out $145.00 a week in ins. premiums out of my hubby check and If I can't get them to pay6 for surgery I am going to cancel them.
