Does anyone else have a problem with their period after surgery

I had surgery on 1/7/04. Since that time I have had my period SIX times. I have only lost 51 pounds. (My head says I should have lost more) Has anyone else had this messed up of a period after surgery? Mine was normal before surgery. Had the irregular period caused you to lose slower?
