My tongue is numb!!!

I am one week post-op and my tongue is still numb. I first noticed it the day I had surgery when I first woke up. At first I thought nothing of it, but now it is really bugging me. It's the tip of my tongue that is numb and the taste buds there don't work. Anyone heard of this before??
