Calling all LARGE STOMA
Mostly I'm just looking for support, I know there are several of us out there because I've been paying attention to comments and questions about this for the last couple of months. My nutritionist suspects that my stoma is too large. My surgeon is willing to do an upper GI, though I haven't had it yet. I can eat huge amounts (almost like pre-op) with no sickness and no full feeling. I think everything just slides right on down the pipe (and into constipation - ugh)! Leaving me to exercise will power and self control about food (which I am obviously in short supply of since I needed this surgery... ). It seems much harder this way. Maybe now a diet will actually work, but I don't want to be on a constant diet for the rest of my life! Whine-whine! The small pouch function is such a major component of the success and to not have that enforced limit on eating makes it very difficult to change all those lifelong bad habits! I have read that there's not really anything that can be done to help. Does anyone have any suggestions?
