Since surgery has anyone experienced allergic reactions?

I'm 4 months post-op and take Synthroid, a thyroid medication, and about 4 weeks after surgery I started having hives and have had them since. I've been to my GP, an allergist and a thyroid specialist. My allergist says she thinks it's my thyroid itself not the medication, my thyroid specialist thinks it's the die in the medication. Just wondering if anyone has become allergic to medication or food since surgery.
