Any Suggestions....On how I can get my surgeon's office to submit paperwork sooner?
My surgeon's office is not planning on submitting my insurance approval until July (my surgery is scheduled for August 1st). I have heard that my insurance company sometimes stalls with approvals and tends to deny the first time around. I have tried to get the surgeon's office to send it in a little early, to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can say to make them send in the paperwork...all I am asking for is mid-June instead of July. When I went in for my appontment to schedule a surgery date, I was told that once I was on the O.R. schedule, they would submit paperwork to my insurance company for approval, but since then, I guess it has changed because they said they generally send in the paperwork 2 weeks before surgery. Its just so stressful to me and I am having anxiety over this and I really feel that if they would just send it in, I'd feel so much better about it. Sorry this is so long winded...Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
