Current Ins. wont cover....Blue Cross wont let me purchase theirs...anyone else?

My current insurance which is HealthPlus that I have through my employer and will not pay for the surgery any way, shape or form. So I checked into purchasing individual Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance since I would at least have a fighting chance. On the information that they sent me, it states that I do not qualify for a policy with BCBS if I am eligible for Ins coverage through another group health plan (i.e. my employer). If I drop my HealthPlus then I would be left with no Ins. and even then it is no guarantee that I could even get a policy through BCBS with their other exclusions. Help! I need advice if anyone else has run into this problem or may have any insights into this. Thanks
