Would I have to start the approval process all over if I switch Insurance?

Hello Everyone! I have been debating on whether to switch insurance from Kaiser to blue cross, I have decided on switching finally. However, I do have a seminar coming up on the 10th that I have to attend for bariatrics. Does anyone know how long it would take to get approved from Blue Cross? Also, Would I have a problem getting my surgery with them if I have a history of trying to get the surgery with kaiser? and last but not least, would I have to wait a year? I have called blue cross so many times and got nowhere I am praying that some of you will have the answers! Thank you god bless
