Does everyone that has open RNY have to be on Ventilater & have NG tube??

My Dr is Dr Jaurez in Phoenix AZ if any of you have had open RNY done by him please tell me if you were on a ventilater and had NG tube? I have a terrible fobia of both! When I think of ventilaters I think of death,because my mama was on one right before she died 2 years in Dec. And I had a bad experiance with NG tube. Thanks with any help you can give.
