Has anyone had a hernia repaired and their stomach transected at the same time?

I had RNY surgery 3/19/01, stomach was stapled--as of 8/21/01 surgeon informs me the leak I had from the beginning involved 5 staples-can eat as much as before now. I have also developed a large hernia at my navel, Dr. says he can transect my stomach(to fix the staple problem) and correct my hernia at the same time. Just would like to know if anyone has had this done and their results.
