How would they treat future problem if they do not perform by-pass

I am originally from Scotland, been in the states for 10 yrs and my American husband would like us to move back in the next few years. They do not perform gastric by-pass in Scotland and I'm wondering how I would be cared for if they don't know the procedure if there were any complications in the next few years or medical treatment I might need..... Maybe I am worried about nothing, it's just a though rattling around in my head.
