What does Jenny Craig say you can expect?

One of the things that impressed me about the WLS research is that they start with success rates and averages. Other diet programs will only tell you what results aren't typical. So, I sent an Email to both Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers to see what they would tell a potential member. Here's what happened with JC. Kathryn: As you know, the program is designed to result in an average weekly rate of weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week. For more specific information, please consult your personal physician. Your physician can evaluate your health history, physical activity level, and motivation and provide you with an estimate specific to you. Best wishes to you on your weight management journey. -----Original Message----- From: Kathryn Canges [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2001 3:39 PM To: MemberHelp Subject: RE: Please help or redirect my question Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. 1 to 2 pounds a week sounds reasonable, my question is more for total weight loss. If I wanted to lose 100 lbs, would that be a reasonable expectation if I stayed in the program for 50-100 weeks (based on 1-2 lbs/wk)? I think I have a normal amount of motivation and probably a higher than normal level of activity. My concern is that if I'm not seeing results, it will be blamed on my motivation. That's why I'm trying to find out what's normal. Thank you very much for your response.
