Has anyone else had to appeal to their/spouse's employer?

My insurance company denied my request for wls this past week after writing a 5 page letter and my Dr wrote a letter as well. I was told when I called them directly that I needed to appeal to my husband's employer. Has anyone out there had to do this? Should I write or make an appt to go see them? Thanks!
