did anyone have their reconstructive surgery at a military hospital?

i live about 3 hours away from the nearest military hospital. tricare approved my wls and i had it with a civilian doctor. i know i will be needing reconstructive surgery, but i don't know if my region 1 tricare office will approve it(thye are very tough). i was wondering if i got turned down from tricare should i try and get it done thur the military hospital so i don't have to deal with tricare?
