Have any of you tried turbinado sugar?

A couple of days ago someone poted a question on HOLIDAY RECIPES. One of the ladies who wnswered has her own WLS cook book. She said she uses turbinado sugar. I would like to try it in some of my favorite holiday recipes for Thanksgiving, but I am scared of dumping. So far, I have not tried sugar nor have I dumped. I don't want my first time to be because of eating something like this. Have any of you tried it? Did you dump or was it ok?
