I am almost 1 year post op and having chest pains

I had my surgery on November 19, 2002. I am almost 1 year post op and down 90 lbs. I am 26 years old and had my gall bladder removed in July 2003 due to gall bladder pancreatitis. For the past week I have had some nasty chest pains directly behind my heart. I am not sure if I am being too whiney or if I should contact my surgeon and let him decide. I am a healthy person, just as of late with these pains. I am just looking for some reassurance and maybe some answers as to what might be causing these pains.
