What is the difference between VBG and adjustable band?

Ok, first I have to admit I have not done alot of research. But just the little I have done I cant answer this question. What is the difference between the Vertical Banded Gastroplasty and the Adjustable Lap Band (BESIDES being that the ALB is 'adjustable') other than THAT whats the difference????
