Why would a doctor do lapband in one area and rny in a diff. location?

The doc I am lookin at does the lapband in Truckee and the rny in Ventura. I dont get to meet with him till next week so I can ask him. I was hoping somebody here might know. I live next to Truckee and would like to have the rny but that means Ventura. Thanks Dana
