Is is ok to go ahead and have certain tests done?

I am going to BTC in Ohio (after changing Dr.'s). I was wondering if it would be ok to go ahead and do my stress test and echocardiogram before my consultation. I already know through my previous Dr. that I need these tests because of my family history. My EKG was fine, but they want to do these just to be on the safe side (I am fine with that). Also, can I go ahead and see a Pulmonolgist...I have been a smoker for 13 years and I am fighting that smoking demon right now. Any responses will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance :)
