Anyone out there have the lap Band and covered by IH?

11/29/02 - I went and met with Dr. Posner today. He seems like a straight forward dr.He was very easy to talk with. He has me somewhat confused though...I can tell he prefers the AGB rather than the RNY...For safety reasons, of course. Now I feel like I'm back to the drawing board because he wants me to research the Adjustable Gastric Banding surgery. So that is what I am now doing. He's also sending me for tests. I'm not sure yet which tests other than the sleep apnea test and for a stress test. Monday his nurse will call me with all the test that he set up for me! He also wants me get a letter of necessity ready for the insurance company. I heard insurance companies don't normally cover the AGB. Well, I guess we will see! I have Independent Health. Anyone out there have the lap Band and covered by IH? Help!!!
